What is ovulation?

Ovulation is the release of an egg from the ovary, which is a crucial part of the female reproductive cycle. This process typically occurs around the midpoint of the menstrual cycle and is essential for conception to take place. When ovulation occurs, a mature egg is released and can travel down the fallopian tube, where it can potentially be fertilized by sperm.
